Don’t Worry, I’m Still Here.

Thursday, August 28th, 2008

When this blog was started, I intended to write on it about every day, but latley I have been spending more time writing for WebProNews in addition to my SmallBusinessNewz articles.  So if anyone is looking for daily posts here, please accept my apologies, but there are only so many hours in the day.

I have not been ignoring the eBusiness Directory, so you needn’t worry about that. People have contacted me regarding issues with their listings, and I have been happy to assist in as timely a fashion as I can.  I am also still approving submissions every day, so don’t worry about that either.

If you just want to read some of my writing, you can catch me at WebProNews.com and SmallBusinessNewz.com.

Back to Work

Monday, July 7th, 2008

…And I’m back from the 4th of July Weekend. To be perfectly honest, I did not touch the eBusiness Directory for its duration, but I caught up with submissions first thing this morning.

But I couldn’t stay away completely. I did write a couple of short WPN posts, one regarding the future of Netflix, which seems to be a hot topic lately.

I for one am counting on Netflix being around for a long time, because I am a happy customer of five years or better, and I hate to think about no longer having the service.

Anyway, I intend to do some more work with the directory this week like adding more categories, although there is a strong possibility my wife will have our baby soon, and I will not get to it for a while. I’ll let you know when anything is added, as always, so stay tuned!

Twellow - A Different Kind of Directory

Wednesday, June 25th, 2008

Everything seems to be back in order with the maintenance of the eBusiness Directory. We had a bit of a rocky morning yesterday with server issues, but it’s all in check now, and the approval process has moved forward.

I would like to take this opportunity to point you to another kind of directory (also from WebProNews).  This one is called Twellow, and it is specifically for indexing Twitter users.

It’s not just a directory. It’s a tool that many Twitter users will find very useful. It’s been getting good reviews.  One in particular, from Mashable had this to say about it:

So far, my Twitter experience has mostly revolved around adding friends and interesting people I come across on blogs, or simply re-following those that follow me. Twellow allows you to be proactive about finding new and interesting people to follow, and does a great job of presenting the results.

That basically sums up the usefulness of Twellow. There are a great deal of categories to browse or search to help you as a Twitter user find new people of interest to follow.

Many are seeing it as a feature that Twitter should’ve implemented themselves.

Twellow is still in alpha, and there is sure to be updates to it to improve usability, though many are already finding it quite usable.  If you have suggestions for it, feel free to leave feedback.
