WebProNews Directory Submission Housekeeping Tips

Monday, June 8th, 2009

We have had tons of submissions sent to the WebProNews eBusiness Directory as of late, so I thought I would take this opportunity to share some tips on patterns that I have seen with some of these recent submissions to help better your inclusion and appearance in our directory’s listings.

  • Revise URL Before Submit – I have seen a few submissions recently where the URL of the site submitted has been misspelled or the domain suffix (e.g. .com, .net, etc.) was not included. For the best matching of your site URL with the site description of your business, please make sure that the URL that you submit to us is correctly entered in the ‘URL’ field of our directory’s submission form and contains everything needed to reach your business’ website.

  • Is Your Site Live? – There has been a pattern of submissions lately where the URL submitted was either a landing page for the site’s domain or the page has an “Under Construction” message in place of their business’ website. From a business standpoint, if a user is browsing our directory looking for your business’ product, and your site reports that it is under construction and cannot find your product anywhere, most likely that person will move on to your competitor’s site and find what he or she needs there. This is why it is crucial to have your site up-and-running during the time of submission so users can benefit from your site and its products.
  • Has Your Site Changed? – If your site has been listed within our directory for a long time, most likely your site listing will need updating since the demographic, products, and design of your site may have changed. If you would like the title and/or description of your site listing changed, I would be glad to help you with the procss. Just simply contact me via our directory’s contact form, or if you have an account on the iEntry Directory Portal Forum, I will help you there as well. Just simply specify the URL of your site listing, along with the title and/or description that you would like visible, and I will promptly update that information for you, along with providing a timely notification of this service rendered.

Your directory listing is important to us, and we want to help you keep your listing maintained and organized in order to help bring future customers to your business’ website through our quality service.

New Category: eBooks

Monday, May 11th, 2009

First of all, I hope that all mothers who use the directory and view this blog had a fabulous Mother’s Day. I also hope that the WebProNews eBusiness Directory was a great resource for anyone looking for Mother’s Day sales and deals.

Just recently, I have noticed a trend of eBook-related sites that have been submitted to our quality directory, and I thought I would create a category especially for these sites. With this premise, I am pleased to announce that eBooks has been added to our directory’s categories under Software > General Software.

This new category is dedicated to business’ websites that contain eBooks that users can purchase and/or download relating to eBusiness content. If you or your business have a website like this, please feel free to submit your website for free inclusion into our quality directory using our quick-and-easy submission form. All that you have to do is to enter in the URL of your eBook-related site, your e-mail address (for notification of the site being included), and select eBooks from the category drop-down menu.

If you have any questions regarding the eBooks category, or have any other questions regarding your site listing on our directory, please feel free to ask me on the iEntry Directory Portal Forum under the Niche Directories category. I would be glad to answer any questions that you may have.

Happy Submitting! :)

Proud Of Your Submission? Let It Be Known!

Monday, May 4th, 2009

First of all, I would like to thank all of you who received the Jayde Listing Notes and Directory Listing Notes publications and submitted your business’ website(s) to us via those publications. We have had numerous submissions as of late, due to your great participation in submitting to our quality eBusiness directory from these newsletters.

To show the pride of your submission(s) to our directory, we have provided an image (shown below) that you may display on your business’ website. Displaying this image is not mandatory, and choosing not to display the image will not jeopardize the inclusion nor status of your website into our quality directory. It is just a gift from us to you for you to display with your included directory listing. Linking back to our directory from this image is not mandatory as well.

Speaking of images to display on your site, Twellow (the Twitter Yellow Pages) also has some “stickers” that you can display on your site if you or your business are listed there. These stickers have been provided below and are also accessible from Twellow’s Sticker Page.

Happy Submitting! :)

Twellow Is Exploding With Categories

Monday, April 6th, 2009

Twellow, the directory of Twitter users, is also a service of WebProNews, and has been exploding with new categories to organize users by their niches. These categories and subcategories that are added are not your everyday directory categories (e.g. Arts & Humanities, Education, Health, etc.). These are categories to group users together by more specific niches. Here are some recent categories that have been added to Twellow:

If you can think of a category, you can be pretty sure that Twellow has it and that there are various Twitter users included in it. If you cannot find an area of interest on this service and would like to see the Twitter users relating to this interest, please feel free to suggest a category via the quick-and-easy Twellow contact form and select “Category Suggestion” from the subject drop-down menu.

If you are on Twitter and want to keep updated with the various category additions happening on Twellow, please be sure to add and follow @twellowup (http://www.twitter.com/twellowup) since it is always being updated with new
category additions.

Have fun with Twellow and find users by common niches today!
