Bad Economy? The WebProNews Directory Can Help! (Part II)

Monday, March 30th, 2009

In last week’s edition of the WebProNews Directory Blog, I mentioned that the WebProNews eBusiness Directory can be a great place for finding resources in today’s unstable economy. Another resource that this quality directory can give you is a place to find great job-searching sites.

Since many employers are laying off their employees, for example, IBM laid off 5,000 last week alone, and many former employees are going to be looking for jobs, the job market is more competitive than ever. With this in mind, I would like to bring your attention to the Careers category of our directory. This category contains eBusiness job related tiers like:

  • Career News and Advice – Find news sites and blogs covering professional development topics.
  • HR Consultants – Find agencies that specialize in Human Resources consulting services.
  • Internships – Find resources to help you get started in an internship in your career field.
  • Job Search Engines – Places to find jobs and for employers to find job candidates.
  • Online College Search – Find sites that will help find schools to further your education and career.
  • Resume Software – Software and tools to make your resume standout from the crowd.
  • Staffing Agencies – Find listings of employment staffing and temp agencies.
  • Student Financial Aid – Find scholarships and student loan sources to help you further your education.

Also, if you are an eBusiness job-related site that fits into any of the categories above, please feel free to submit your website for inclusion to us using our quick-and-easy submit form. We would be happy to list your site within our quality directory!

Facebook’s Layout Has Changed. Are You Writing About It?

Monday, March 16th, 2009

This past week, social networking giant Facebook implemented a new design for their user interface. Their user interface is now somewhat close to Twitter’s cosmetic appearance, having the status updates as the main focal point of the website. Does this sound familiar, Twitter users? This change is bringing about a lot of hype, not only on Facebook itself, but on a lot of social networking/media blogs out on the net as well (e.g. Mashable.com).

The new Facebook now looks like this:

With this in mind, I would like to bring your attention to the Social Media Blogs category on the WebProNews eBusiness Directory which is located under the Blogs category on the main page. (more…)

Have You Been To The iEntry Directory Portal Forum Lately?

Monday, March 9th, 2009

Have you been to the iEntry Directory Portal Forum lately? Chris Crum (the previous WPN directory editor) mentioned it a while back, but I thought I would bring this great directory discussion site to your attention again.

This forum is a great place for support regarding the WebProNews eBusiness Directory. If you have any questions regarding your site listing, please feel free ask them in our thread dedicated to our quality directory.

There are also other subforum categories dedicated to directory-related topics:

  • Popular Directories – Discussion area where users can discuss and ask questions about other directories around the web (e.g. Dmoz, Yahoo, etc.)
  • Directory Submitters – Do you have any questions regarding directory submission software or websites? This is a great place to ask to gain knowledge and feedback in relation to these services.
  • Directory Software – Wanting to set up a directory of your own and have questions about which software to use? Or having issues installing directory software? This is the place to ask.
  • Directory Announcements – Do you have a free-listing directory that you would like to advertise? Feel free to post your directory’s credentials in this subforum.

Also, you are always welcome to stop by and introduce yourself in the Introduction section of the forum.

Happy Submitting! :)
