Ice Storms and Meta Tags

By: Chad Sweely

You may have seen on the news that this past week, Kentucky (home state of iEntry and WebProNews) suffered an intense ice storm that knocked out the majority of the state’s power, cancelled schools, church services, and work… but not iEntry. We have been here through the thick and thin of this storm making sure that all the services we provide you are covered, especially your directory submissions.

A tip that I would like to share with you to help better your visibility in our quality directory is the use of meta tags in the index file of your website. Prior to submitting your site to us, make sure that you have a name=”description” and content=”(your site descrition)” within your meta tag. This will help me choose the description for your site listing when including it in our directory, thus giving you more control of your directory listing’s content.

If you do not have access to the code of your website, you may want to ask your site’s web administrator to add these to your business’ website(s). This not only helps your visibility in our directory but also in other directories and search engines as well.

If you have any questions regarding the description of your current site listing, meta tags, or any other question about the WebProNews eBusiness Directory, feel free to ask me using our quick-and-easy contact form.
