This year (2008) has been a year of growth for the WebProNews eBusiness Directory. To date, there are approximately 5,600 listings included within the various categories that our quality directory has in store. With the number of submissions in mind, this makes a great resource for finding the best holiday specials for your eBusiness’ needs.

If you have not submitted your business’ website(s) for inclusion into our directory, what is stopping you? Just click on the submit link that is located directly under the search text box on the right-hand menu of the directory. Once you are on the submit page, all you have to do to be included in our directory is to fill out the URL, e-mail, and category fields, along with pressing the “Submit” button. Upon submission, you will instantaneously be sent an e-mail verifying your inclusion in our content-rich, human edited directory.

Speaking of our directory being human edited, the events of this holiday season will not hinder the process of inclusion of your website in our directory. Your website will be reviewed and included within 24 hours of submission to our directory. If you do not see your website included within 24-48 hours, please contact me, and I will promptly investigate the status of your submission for you.

After seeing some recurring trends, I have gone ahead and made two more subcategories: Recovery Software and Freelance Web Designers.

Recovery Software – This subcategory can be found under the Software category on our directory, and it was created for companies that offer file/data recovery packages to advertise their product.

Freelance Web Designers – I have started to see a slow, but growing trend of freelance web designers submitting their portfolios and talent to our directory. This subcategory, which is located under Web Development > Web Design was created to showcase their special services.

If your business/product fits into any of the above categories, feel free to submit them for inclusion in our quality eBusiness Directory.

I have seen a trend lately of graphic designers along with graphic design companies submitting to our quality eBusiness Directory. Thus, I have created the Graphic Design Services subcategory located under the Web Development category.

If you are a graphic design company or a freelance graphic designer, feel free to submit your eBusiness website to our category for approval and inclusion.

First of all, I hope that all of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. iEntry (WebProNews’ publisher) had its Thanksgiving luncheon two days before Thanksgiving Day, so in a way, the iEntry Staff had two Thanksgivings.

There were a lot of websites submitted to our eBusiness Directory during the Thanksgiving break, and I am making it a priority to get all submissions into their respective categories.

With the Christmas season fast approaching, it is the best time to include your business’ website in our directory. Directories are a great way to get your business publicized (along with your Christmas/holiday specials), and you are more than welcome to submit your eBusiness website to our quality, human-edited directory.

Here are a few quick reminders that I would like to share with you prior to your submission:

• Make sure your site is live - There have been a few submissions that I have seen that have not made the cut, because either it is a blank page or the URL does not exist. Chris’ post on ‘Is Your Site Ready for Prime Time?‘ elaborates on this premise in greater detail.
• Meta tags - Please make sure that you have meta tags (including description and/or keywords) within the HTML code of your site. If you do not have access to the code of your business’ website, you may want to ask your website administrator if this can be added if not present.
• Choose your category/subcategory carefully - On the directory’s submit page, please be sure to select the best, narrowed-down category or subcategory that fits your business’ website content. This will help me to promptly place your website in the right area on our directory. If you do not see a category that best fits or describes your business, please contact me, and I will recommend a well-suited category for your website.
