A Directory Explosion

Monday, September 29th, 2008

iEntry Network, the makers of our beloved eBusiness Directory, is “exploding with directories” as Chad at the Directory Portal says.

Remember, the Directory Portal will keep you up to date on all the directories iEntry has and gets. There are a bunch of new ones now though. The latest additions include:

* Hewdirectory.com

* AscentDirectory.com

* Emm-now

* Ttra2008.com

* DirectoryDelight.com

* BetterLinks.net

* KillerDirectory.net

* Wonard.com

* Tcch.org

As for the eBusiness Directory itself, there have still been no major changes recently, but when there are, I promise, you will be among the first to know. In the meantime, get busy using our other new acquisitions (you can still use the eBusiness Directory too).

Business As Usual, In Other News…

Tuesday, September 23rd, 2008

Not a lot happening with the eBusiness Directory at the moment, outside of business as usual.

Some interesting non-directory items of note, however include:

- eBay is now only accepting elecontronic payments

- Technorati released the annual “State of the Blogosphere” report. See my additional thoughts on the blogosphere (I’m blogging at Pureblogging.com now by the way).

- Kentucky’s Governor is blocking gambling sites.

- Total searches online are down.

Big Directory News!

Thursday, September 18th, 2008

OK, this news is a couple days old now, but if you haven’t heard,  Best of the Web might be buying DMOZ.

Jeremy Schoemaker from Shoemoney posted that the owners of Best of the Web Directory are in talks to buy Dmoz from AOL , saying a “deal could be reached fairly soon.”

iEntry CEO Rich Ord took a look at the story on WebProNews, and sparked all kinds of discussion.

Not everyone believes Schoemaker, but if such a deal goes through, it’s one of the biggest things that has happened in the directory world in a long time.

The Directory Portal

Monday, September 15th, 2008

I don’t believe I’ve directed you to the iEntry Directory Portal yet.  In case you were not aware, iEntry Network owns quite a few different directories (I can almost see all of you submitters salivating), and we have one site that will direct you to any and all of them – the iEntry Directory Portal.

Our support guy Chad Sweely runs the site and updates it regularly, providing not only a “portal” to  all of our directories, but a “spotlight” on different ones as time goes on. When we launch a new one, it will be written about there. If we buy one, it will be written about there.

The site has an RSS feed you can subscribe to so you can stay up to date hassle free, and a Twitter account was also recently launched as another means of keeping users informed.

Chad also provides commentary on the happenings of iEntry directories – much like I do here with the eBusiness Directory, only on a broader scale covering our entire network.

The site is definitely worth checking out and will likely direct you to some directories you haven’t been to before.
